About Us About The Bays Get Involved! Research Restoration Education Public Policy
Messages
Greetings from the Chair of the Board of Directors

In 2005, the Center celebrated its 10th anniversary…a decade of work, bringing people together to restore and protect the Inland Bays, so important to our quality of life here.

In 2006, the Center for the Inland Bays will occupy “A Building for Our Bays,” a state of the art facility where you can learn from our exhibits, participate in educational programs, attend watershed meetings, or just enjoy the view of the bay from the front deck.

We urge you to join us in this important work towards achieving our vision of a balanced and healthy ecosystem for Delaware’s Inland Bays.

We are committed to delivering high quality information to all of those individuals interested in Delaware’s Inland Bays, so I encourage you to read the pages about our research, programs, publications and events.

Your feedback on this website is always welcome. Please email us at outreach@inlandbays.org with your comments or suggestions.

...From the Secretary, Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and CIB Board Member

“The health of our prized Inland Bays has been a great concern that must be addressed with real-life solutions and actions from all of us if we are to see significant improvement. We have a responsibility to leave a legacy of restored water quality in the unique ecosystem that provides natural beauty and recreational opportunities to so many citizens and visitors to Delaware.”

John Hughes, Secretary, DNREC
Director, CIB Board

...From the Executive Director

With the pressures on our land and water growing, the mandate given to the Center for the Inland Bays when it was established in 1995 is more critical than ever. This growing challenge requires renewed determination and innovative thinking, and your help.

We hope that you will join us in this work to restore and protect our Inland Bays and their watershed. We will begin our second decade at Indian River Inlet, in sight and sound and smell of our estuary…a functional and inspirational place where citizens, scientists, staff and volunteers can work together for the good of our Inland Bays.
