If you’d like to send a donation by check to the Center, please post it to 39375 Inlet Rd. Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971, Attn: Development Team. If you’d like to have your donation restricted to a certain project or program, please indicate in the memo of the check. If you’d like to your donation to be unrestricted and applied to the area of most need, please leave the memo of the check blank. Thank you for supporting the Center.
A donation of any amount will make you an honorary “Friend of the Bays!” As part of this program, you will receive our annual Inland Bays Journal as well as email updates that will keep you informed about news, projects, volunteer opportunities, and other events around the Inland Bays.
Your donation will…
• Support research, education, and restoration for the Bays.
• Promote protection of natural shorelines.
• Fund the work of citizen scientists to monitor fish and crab populations as indicators of Bay health.
• Protect the James Farm Ecological Preserve is an oasis of natural beauty in our community.
• Restore populations of wild oysters to clean Bay waters and provide habitat for fish and other aquatic life.
• Reduce pollution entering the Bays by restoring natural habitat.
Decades ago, the Bays were thought to be healthy and clear. However, years of accumulated nutrient pollution and habitat loss have changed the Bays to generally murky waters that are dominated by algae, have very few bay grasses or oysters, and cannot support healthy oxygen levels in many areas.
But things are beginning to look up! Thanks to over two decades of hard work by farmers, homeowners, businesses, boaters, elected officials, scientists, and donors like you, some indicators of environmental quality suggest the Bays are moving back in a healthy direction!
