Schoolyard Habitats in the Inland Bays Watershed

Bringing Schoolyard Habitats to the Inland Bays Watershed
No child left inside!

In 2006, the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays (CIB) formed a partnership with the Indian River School District to bring “schoolyard habitats” to schools in the Inland Bays watershed.

With a $5,000 NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) grant and technical assistance from Environmental Concern, a non profit wetland education organization in St. Michaels, Maryland, we made plans to create our first two schoolyard habitats in the 2006-2007 school year at Long Neck Elementary School and Phillip C. Showell Elementary School in Selbyville.
