What We Do

With the help of many partners

We are here to implement a plan to improve water quality in the Inland Bays.

Great Cypress Swamp

Not by ourselves, but by working in partnership with scientists and researchers, land managers, public officials, schools, towns councils, conservation and environmental organizations, businesses, community organizations and people who live here, work here and vacation here.

Habitat Restoration

Heron Rookery on Middle Island

We work with partners to protect and restore habitat for native plants and animals.

Science and Research

Research on Salt Marsh Dieback

We work with scientists on research so we can share knowledge that will help us make better decisions about things that impact the Bays.

Education and Outreach

Students exploring their wetland at E. Millsboro Elementary

We teach school children about the Bays and take the Inland Bays message into the community through outreach events and demonstration projects, and we work to get everyone thinking about how they can make decisions everyday to make the Bays cleaner.

Did You Know

DID YOU KNOW?

Despite their fierce looking appearance, the horseshoe crab is harmless to humans. It uses its 'tail' as a rudder to steer, and to turn itself over in the sand when it gets flipped.
