Andrew McGowan – Manager, Estuary Science

Andrew McGowan is the Manager of Estuary Science with the Center for Inland Bays. In this position, he assists with various projects, including the Inland Bays Shorezone Fish & Blue Crab Survey, the Horseshoe Crab Survey and Tagging Project, and the Long-term Continuous Saltmarsh Monitoring Program. He also provides statistical data analysis and GIS analysis for the Center.
Before taking this position, Andrew worked for the Maryland Coastal Bays Program as a scientific intern performing data analysis, and for the Maryland Forest Service, collecting data on forest health, growth, and species distribution.
Andrew grew up in Toms River, NJ, where he gained an appreciation for coastal ecosystems. In his free time Andrew enjoys playing sports, swimming, and reading. He holds a B.S. in Biology from East Stroudsburg University, and a M.S. in Applied Biology from Salisbury University.
