Join the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays and DNREC’s Division of Watershed Stewardship  on Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. for family recreation and learning about Delaware’s natural environments at this new event. The Water Family Fest event will be held at the James Farm Ecological Preserve at 30048 Cedar Neck Road, in Ocean View, De.

Bring the family and learn about all the different areas the Center and the Division of Watershed Stewardship work in to improve and protect your waters and ecosystems. You will also be able to get involved with some “feet-wet, hands-dirty fun” through: “Touch a Truck,” self-guided hikes, a scavenger hunt, Wetland Storybook walk, kayaking, and beach seining. Exhibits will also provide you with an opportunity for exploration into seagrass, beach grass, shellfish, wetlands, tax ditches, rain gardens, ospreys and more.

This free event will feature family-friendly exhibitors and activities throughout the day, and kicks off the Division of Watershed Stewardship’s Dune Preservation Sign Contest (more information to come). Don’t forget to bring your beach towel so you can soak up some rays at the water’s edge!

Although not required, you can RSVP to attend, and the program organizers also are accepting exhibitors and vendors. Please check out the links below for more information, or contact Brittany.Haywood@delaware.gov.
