Winter Lecture Series: The Science of Oysters: A Shucking Good Time

Please join the Delaware Center for the Inland Bays (Center) for our inaugural Winter Lecture Series event – “The Science of Oysters: A Shucking Good Time” on Thursday, November 17th from 5-7 pm.

Dr. Ed Hale, Assistant Professor with the School for Marine Science and Policy at the University of Delaware, will share the unique biology of the oyster; and Asher Truitt, Assistant Chef with Harbour at Canal Square, will highlight the culinary importance of the oyster to our local area while participants enjoy a shucking demonstration. There are two options for attending this hybrid event: in-person at the Center’s office or virtually via Zoom. Please note that the oyster shucking demonstration will only be available to in-person participants. This event is free, but in-person space is limited! Questions? Please contact Jackie Knoll at jknoll@inlandbays.org
